He had 6 brothers and sisters that died during the passage to America. What has been passed down is that Jacob's brothers and sisters died from scurvy. Not enough green veggie's in their diet during the ship's transit. Family Legends says that Jacob, father of Anthony promised to God that if he allowed his last son to survive the passage, that he would build a church that could last 100 years. He and a Landoll, built a stone chapel that the circuit rider priests from St. Reigel, OH used. This Landoll would put the priest up at his house. Again legend says that the chapel is or was part of Sorrowful Mother Shrine.7
