MICHAEL SCHREINER Pioneer of Thompson Township, Died at the Home of His Daughter in Norwalk Friday Afternoon. Michael Schreiner, a former pioneer resident of Thompson township, died Friday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Anthony Adleman, in Norwalk, aged 79 years, 2 months and 5 days. Mr. Schreiner had been in failing health for some time but his last illness was of only a week's duration. The immediate cause of death was Bright's disease. The deceased was born in Germany, Oct 25, 1832, and at the age of 14 came with his parents to America. They located on a farm in Thompson township and were among the earliest settlers of this section. Mr. Schreiner was married to Miss Mary Copping and they located on a farm south of Frank, where they resided until the death of Mrs. Schreiner some five years ago. Fourteen children were born to this union, twelve of whom are living. They are, Joseph and Jacob, of Chicago Junction (Willard); Peter, of Fostoria; Martin, of Lima; Mrs. Mary Shirley (Sherley), of Reedtown; Mrs. A.P. Hasselbach, of Bellevue; Mrs. Kate Steinmetz, of Fostoria; Mrs. Louise Huffman, of Tiffin; Mrs. Louis Swartz, of Chicago Junction (Willard); Mrs. Anthony Adleman, of Norwalk; and Mrs. Andrew Cunningham, of Lima; one child died in infancy and one daughter, Mrs. Henry Blaes, died eleven years ago. Mr. Schreiner was a devout Christian and a life-long member of the Catholic Church. He was a man of strictest integrity, an upright citizen and filled well his days upon earth, and has now gone to enjoy the reward of a long and well spent life. The funeral will take place Monday morning at 7:30 from the German Catholic Church (?St Paul's Catholic Church) in Norwalk. The remains will be brought to Bellevue that morning on the 9:35 Lake Shore Electric Car and the interment will take place in the Catholic Cemetery at Fireside (should have read 'at Frank').
