From the Fostoria Review Times Apr 1, 2008 Robert Joseph Gase Robert Joseph "Bob" Gase, 79, Fostoria, passed away 10 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2008, at Independence House. Bob was born on March 10, 1929 in Bucyrus to the late Virgil M. and Mathilda M. (Hoepf) Gase. He married Joan A. Roth and they later divorced. Surviving are his children, Marlene A. (Joe) Geraci, Phoenix, Ariz.; Robert A. Gase, Fostoria; John J. (Cher) Gase, San Diego, Calif.; James C. Gase, San Diego, Calif.; and David C. (Deb) Gase, St. Louis, Mo.; siblings Sister Virginia Gase, Tiffin; Kathleen (Jan) Miller, Findlay; Betty (Jack) Brink, Findlay; and George (Betty) Gase, El Cajon, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, William, Donald, Mary Catherine Bame and Marlene Ann Gase. Bob was founder of Gase Construction in 1952. He was a member St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, AMVETS, honorary life member Knights of Columbus 3rd degree, Golden Age- Eagle member, Moose, VFW and a life member of the Elks #935, all of Fostoria. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening and wine making. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at HOENING FUNERAL HOME, 242 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, with a Christian wake service taking place at 7:45 p.m. Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday April 3, 2008, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church where a Rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. Contributions may be made to St. Wendelin tuition assistance program or Knights of Columbus.
