We spent a wonderful long weekend with Betsy and the cherubs who arrived just in time for a cold snap which subsided the morning they were going home. We had breakfast at Annie's then went to the Manatee Park.  The manatee park is located next to a power plant so the water is always warm -- and the cold temperatures in the river brought them into the viewing area.   We counted about twenty and have lots of pictures of manatee noses.

Later Jack and Reese fished off our dock and caught a mangrove snapper and a sheepshead that Gram cooked up for dinner. MMMMMMM.... Reese's stuffed snake, Elinor, took a small dip in the canal, too, and she got dried out and a new button "eye." 

We toured the Edison Estate and stood under the huge banyan trees which "walk" all over the property. Jack and Reese made special Edison pennies in a compacting machine. We went to the beach at Bowditch Point in Ft. Myers for shelling and collected quite a few to take home.  We also saw dolphins swimming close to the shore. Walking back through the park the cherubs found a coconut and were able to watch a gopher tortoise sunning himself.   We also visited MomMom and PopPop Jimmy and the kids were regaled with Jimmy's magic trick and Bruno's antics.

The next day we took a ride in the little boat and saw many dolphins swimming in the Tarpon Pointe area of the  Caloosahatchee River. Jack steered the boat really well and a good time was had by all. We planned lunch at Jimbo's  but they were closed, so we went to the yacht club snack bar and had a picnic lunch. 

Our visit was over too soon and we hope they come back to visit again and again and again. Waiting for your next visit, Betsy and cherubs!!!  We love you!!! xoxoxoxo
